“You are the power source!” was just one of the many ideas by one of the interior designers who attended BKM’s first ever Furniture Application Design Charrette.  Hosted at BKM Thursday, May 8, 2008, the inaugural charrette will be a quarterly event designed to bring together ultra-creative designers to brainstorm ideas on various furniture design topics.  The first charrette featured 14 sub-topics under the umbrella of “private office:”  columns, windows, glare, door orientation, power/data placement, modularity, lighting, isolation issues, collaboration, computer screen placement, working office, casual office, compact office, and more!

Hoshiko Kamiya (HOK) said, “This was not only fun but also a wonderful opportunity for me to unleash my creativity.  Typically, there are too many constraints to be really creative.”
