overview : history
Built on a reputation of knowledge, products and services, BKM Total Office of Texas was known in 1973 as Metroplex Business Interiors (MBI). BKM Enterprises of Hartford, CT bought the business in 1986. Carol Roehrig was named President of BKM Texas in 1995 and was subsequently joined in 1998 by Carlene Wilson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Carol and Carlene’s long term experience in the contract furniture industry and complementary leadership styles led to their successful purchase of BKM Total Office of Texas in 2002.
Carol feels strongly that seeking continuous improvement provides an atmosphere of ongoing commitment to both customers and employees. “The more we know, the better we execute, the higher our service level. We believe continuing education and the investment we make in our people differentiates our organization.”
Carlene’s strength is evident in her “hands on” approach with sales and marketing activities. “BKM’s top priority is to provide complete customer satisfaction. This process is accomplished through our people, processes, technology and culture in smart and creative ways.”
BKM’s business philosophy is:
- Seek to listen, learn, and understand your business and related issues.
- Recommend product and service applications expertly.
- Personally accept responsibility for earning customer satisfaction within the parameters of every project.
Today, with over $40 million in revenue and 85 employees, BKM is the leading Steelcase dealer in the DFW market.
